This 'tasteful' tour will bring participants to several local farms in Plumas County to learn about local agriculture and sample some of the season’s best foods. Participants will learn the many benefits of locally grown food, and why it is not only delicious, but also very important to rural communities. Local produce is exceptionally fresh, but it also supports small farms and farmers and helps the environment, by reducing travel.
Participants will board a bus and travel to several local farms, to hear about local agriculture and the people who work the land to grow the delicious food. The tour will then discuss a community farming project, as well as gardening efforts from a local elementary school. The tour will end with a meal prepared exclusively from local foods.
