ABOUT PWCFC: OTHER COMMUNITY FORESTRY CENTERS: |
An Advisory Council guides the Pacific West Center's work with underserved communities. Council members are our presence throughout the Pacific West, sharing the services we offer with communities and letting us know about needs and opportunities for partnership at the local and regional levels. Council members reflect the region geographically, and contribute a diverse mix of perspectives about community forestry. The Advisory Council guides the Center by helping staff prioritize regional research and capacity-building needs, identifying and selecting communities to partner with for participatory research, and providing feedback and advice to Center staff on program development and emerging issues. In addition, Technical Advisors support the Center's efforts. They provide specific expertise and represent different segments of the forestry and rural development communities. Technical advisors engage with Center activities on particular topics of interest, and participate in Advisory Council events as desired. Currently, there are three technical advisors.
