On January 26, 2007, Proyecto Salud hosted a bilingual community forum with about 60 Latino community members, health and human service providers, and other interested community members. Goals of the forum were to:

  • Share and discuss results of the Sierra Institute's two-year assessment of healthcare and wellness needs and interests of Plumas County's growing Latino community
  • Share community outcomes of Proyecto Salud’s capacity building process
  • Deepen our understanding of key needs and issues related to healthcare
  • Brainstorm ideas, opportunities, and resources to respond to needs
  • Commit to next steps

Forum participants identified key health and wellness issues and worked in small groups to brainstorm ideas and resources to address the issues. Read the notes from the Forum’s small groups:
