There are different ways to become involved with Sierra Institute, other than employment:

Be an Intern:

The Sierra Institute currently does not have any intern positions available. Please check back for future listings.

Be a Volunteer:

If you:
Like people; Like learning; Like being out-of-doors -
then volunteering for the Center of Forestry 2012 Tours is perfect for you!

Being a volunteer gives you an opportunity to participate in the Center of Forestry tours, seeing various parts of the Northern Sierra Nevada and hearing all that the experts, our tour guides, have to share. It is also an excellent opportunity for you to give back to your community and assist in making our educational tour experience a positive memory for all.

The Center of Forestry takes pride in the educational tours that are offered each year and it takes a team of caring, talented individuals to make these tours as impressive as they have become. As a volunteer, you become part of that team, sharing your talents with others and us.

Qualifications desired include a willingness to participate, to be helpful in assisting the Tour Coordinator and the Tour Hostess. Though each task is important, no task is overly difficult and training of each task is available.

The main benefit of volunteering to work on our tours is that you get to go on the tour at no financial charge. You'll hear from the tour guides and see the tour locales. It's a perfect way to participate and support the Center of Forestry at the same time. The most important part of volunteering is to remember to have a good time; enjoy what you are doing, where you are, and those who are with you.
